SORT Trading ***SCAM*** SORT Trading
« on: Mar 28th, 2008, 8:31am »

Have a look at this site sorttradingguide.co.uk

Gareth Reynolds is our new Alan Seymour  Grin Grin Grin

He calles himself a S.O.R.T Trader, SORT stands for Simultaneous Offsetting of Risk Technology. What a piece of shit!

For more fun he has even created a wiki article en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simultaneous_Offsetting_of_Risk_Technology_Trading

My opinion is that those scammers are trying to use that new word "S.O.R.T." instead or arbing just to avoid people finding this forum when they google SORT trading.

The companies he "reviews" (obviously his site is a clear set up by the scammers )are also clearly scams. These are

* Baranstone  baranstone.com and  baranstone.co.uk
* Kinsealy Software  kinsealy.com
* 247-Web.com   247-web.com
* Sort Traders  sorttraders.com

Feel free guys to do some research about them and start new threads with the info you find (I already started a thread about Baranstone).

Cheers

Boyowen

P.S. Interesting article from Aegist site http://www.sportsarbitrageguide.com/wordpress/2008/03/29/sort-trading-simultaneo us-offsetting-of-risk-technology-sort-trading/

S.O.R.T Trading - Simultaneous Offsetting of Risk Technology (SORT Trading)

Posted by Aegist on March 29th, 2008

Sort Trading, or the ‘Simultaneous Offsetting of Risk Technology‘ Trading (SORT Trading for short of course…), is the latest name given to arbitrage trading by a series of four companies, all connected by a single ‘Independent’ review site. SORT Trading, the phrase, exists only within this tiny insular section of the internet. No one in the arbitrage trading community has ever heard of it, and I doubt anyone anywhere else has ever heard of it, because I am confident that the people behind these 5 websites fabricated the term ‘SORT Trading’ themselves entirely in order to set up these companies and the completely clean slate of positive reviews. No one searching for ‘SORT Trading’ would accidentally stumble across any information to help give them informed opinions, whereas if the companies used the more accurate phrase ‘Arbitrage Trading’, or even Surebetting, or Scalping, then any person reviewing the (rather expensive) opportunity being offered to them (over the phone by friendly helpful customer service people no doubt) would surely find LOTS of information. But by searching Google for “Sort trading” you don’t find anything other than 3 of the companies and the review site (and a couple of other ‘independent’ reviews on the open internet).

The SORT Trading companies are all connected by Sort Trading Guide (sorttradingguide.co.uk), and they are Baranstone, Kinsealy, 247-web, and SORT Traders. With the SortTradingGuide website the only obvious link between the four, you have to wonder why they are trying to look independent, and why the reviewer (goes by the name Gareth Reynolds, although the domain is registered to Geoff Andrews) doesn’t seem to know anything about Arbitrage Trading.

There are a few points to be made about this supposedly independent review:

1. ”Over the last 6-12 months a lot of companies have started to get involved in this highly lucrative SORT Trading industry, It would take me months to compare them all (and I have used most of them) so I’ll stick to the leaders in the industry.”

What other companies? Search Google for Sort Trading and you can’t find one - you just find this lot and a few pages they have created to shill for themselves. As I stated earlier in this article - SORT Trading as a term simply doesn’t exist outside of the fabrication of these companies and this reviewer.

2. ”The reason I put this website up was to make aware of the pitfalls of Sort Trading that were never available to a new traders, not to generate business for the Sort Trading industry.”

Yeah…and because you didn’t know about this site (SportsArbitrageGuide) or ArbForum, or any of the HUNDREDS of other websites on this topic which use recognised names for the process or arbitrage trading - and not to help make Baranstone look like a legitimate business.

As soon as you see the fact that this whole SORT Trading ‘industry’ exists only within this small circle of 5 websites, it is hard to think they are in any way independent. All 4 of the companies use the same style of website - 3 or 4 pages, and a contact form. They are short pages, with very little information, and just there to provide a storefront to refer people to from their phone conversations. The ‘Visual basic’, Java, Cisco, and Mac emblems add that extra flair of “We aren’t related - look, we use different systems!”

These 5 websites have just come out of the blue, created an entire industry name out of thin air (search google to verify this for yourself) and are trying to sell their software for …more than 5.5k euro. Much more. It varies from company to company, but I suspect that 3 of the companies are there just to make one in particular look legitimate.

Anyway, there is a discussion going on over at ArbForum about these websites, have a look at it:

SORT Trading ***SCAM*** SORT Trading

And if this is the first time you have ever heard the term “Arbitrage trading”, then welcome to the real ’secret’ industry that they talking about on those “Sort trading” websites. Arbitrage trading is real, and it does work in much the way they explain it, but you don’t have to have tens of thousands of dollars to buy the software. For a more thorough guide of what arbitrage trading it, read through our guide here:

What is Sports Arbitrage Trading?

And just for a comparison, have a look at the real arbitrage trading companies who sell software and arbitrage alerts here:

Sports Arbitrage Trading Alert Services.

They are significantly cheaper than the thousands of dollars being asked for by these companies.

a good read that - the acronym makes no sense at all.

You should add SORT as a key search word for arbforum on google - they wont do much business after that.

Aegist, I had a call the other day from CSI, the company that sells Arb software (CarbonA), although it was not a cold call, but this company makes a very bold claim that a novice arb trader (like myslef) using their software can make a 250% p. a. profit on their investment money! This rate could go as high as 500% p. a.  ShockedCheck their website - faqs section. I remember you saying in a separate thread on this company that it's proved  NOT scam so far - at least. But I also remember you saying in another posting that 4% return p. a. is reasonable rate of profit a trader can get. Now what do you call  a company that promises a 500% profit p. a. if you buy their program? If not scammers, what are they?

Your reply will be appreciated.

I think you are getting a few things confused Mohammad. I'll try to keep it very simple:

1. A personal trader could happily make 10% per MONTH trading. That ends up being well over 100% p.a., but nowhere near 500% p.a.

2. I don't personally call any of these companies scams. Maybe they think they are running legitimate businesses. I don't like to judge. All I know is that I personally would never invest that amount of money in something which such high risk involved. I think the risk far out weighs the potential returns, and the cost of investment is *way* too high.

I never would, and if anyone ever asks for my advice, thats what I will offer them. Not worth it. Save your money for a more reliable investment, or trade with a company which has a significantly lower entrance fee. (like bellow $500 for instance...)

But Mohammad, try to stay on topic from now on. If you have a question about CSI, post it in the CSI thread. This thread is about the company behind the new 'SORT' acronym...

Thank  you Aegist for the prompt response, but you haven't answered my key question: is it a legitimate for a company, like CSI, in order to sell it's product to claim that a personal trader can achieve an annual rate of 500% profit on their principal?

I also pose this question to other experienced arbers seeking their views on this bold claim by  CSI.

Have a good day everyone!

I'm not the most qualified to answer that really, but I would have to say that I find it hard to believe that anyone could make 500% p.a arbitrage trading in the modern market.

Also, market making, leaving one side of the 'arb' open, and betting on high odds IS NOT arbitrage trading. They may be advanced GAMBLING techniques, but they are still gambling. So while it may be possible to make 500%p.a. gambling (a day even!) it is also possible to LOSE 100% at any time.

So no, I don't think you can ARB 500% per annum.

I've checked Kinsealy, the so-called SORT trading service (http://www.kinsealy.com/). The hallmark of arbitrage scammers was all over it. Sentences such as:

'...Secret arena of SORT trading';
'...You have exposed to privilaged information'';
'...[You're] chosen one';
'... a limited account to sell';
'... You have been extremely lucky';
'...want only  a scertain number of clients'; and
'...[want] specific type of clientele'. etc.

are proof of an amateur scammer trying to prey on unwary and naive clients who know nothing or  little about arb. For those who are lucky enough to read the posings on this forum before they hand their hard earned cash to those scammer, please hold on to your cash and run.

Gareth Reynolds is a stupid scammer and he knows it. He knows well that a quick googling will prove that he's lying about the number 10 (of SORT companies) he mentioned in his page. There are only 4 services that were specially created to trade the so-called SORT - a trading technique unknown before Reynolds' website. For fun, you may email asking him to mention the other 6 companies.

SCAM. Stary away.

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum and certainly very green as to arbitrage betting. However in the past 10 days I have been approached by Baranstone to purchase their software. I Googled S.O.R.T. Trading and came up with all the sites that have been mentioned in previous posts

Admittedly the reference to this site was not available when I first did a search and I am glad that I have continued to research the topic. I am in Canada and the spin is that there are 2000 licences currently (1000 each in UK and Australia) and now 50 are being offered in Canada. The price is about $11,500 CDN. They sure make it sound enticing and profitable. Is there any shred of truth to anything that they say?

If this truly is a scam, have the appropriate authorities been notified that a scam of epic proportions is being launched on the public. I have read that these are probably the same characters that launched Globalsoft products in the past which proved to be a total fraud.

I look forward to reading more about this "system" in posts on this forum.

Finally who is this guy "Alan Seymour" that has been mentioned?

Glad I found this site before I got hyped out of my hard earned cash.
