Womens u20 World Championships « on: Jul 21st, 2006, 6:03pm »   The finals are to be held next month in Russia.   The days when young women stayed at home have long gone, but even so, sadly, there are no qualifiers from the U.K. or Ireland.   Sixteen countries in four groups:      A                        B                              C                         D   Russia                   Finland                   Germany              Argentina Brazil                    China                     Switzerland           France Australia               Nigeria                   Mexico                 U.S.A. New Zealand         Canada                  Korea                  Congo     Opening match is between Russia and Brazil on Aug 17th.   Russia's star striker is Elana Danilova. While Brazil have an ace in 'Marta' who is said to bend it like Beckham.                                 Pele---eat your heart out.
